Devon is full of contrasts from some of spectacular coastlines and beaches to the wilds of remote Exmoor and the traditional rolling hills of Tarka Country. These inspirational landscapes have influenced famous writers, poets, artists and musicians such as Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle for centuries.

The county also enjoys a rich heritage that is apparent in its castles, gardens and historic cities as well as its strong history of performing arts. You can dip back into the dark past with Dartmoor’s stone circles and tors, admire the craftsmanship of Exeter’s medieval cathedral or visit the picturesque villages of Clovelly and Ilfracombe with their steep cobbled streets and ancient harbours.

Most of North Devon is made up of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Park including Exmoor National Park that offers a unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, shaped by people and nature over thousands of years.
